SHARPSBURG — Tift County is back in the elite eight.
The Blue Devils spotted the East Coweta Indians two touchdowns in the second round of the state Class AAAAAAA football playoffs Friday, but came roaring back for a 24-17 victory at Garland Shoemake Stadium.
Tift, now 8-4, will venture for the third straight week next Friday, visiting Archer in Lawrenceville. The Tigers upset previously undefeated Parkview, 36-29. Click for full story
Blue Devils clash with East Coweta

The Blue Devils are considered a No. 4 seed by the Georgia High School Association and are the road team tonight, but match their 7-4 mark against the 4-7 of East Coweta. Tift is even favored to return to the quarterfinals by some sources.
All that is on the surface, though.
East Coweta is currently 4-7. The Indians started the year 0-6. Those numbers are totally immaterial, said Tift head coach Ashley Anders. Click for full article

ROSWELL — Winter jackets populated Tift County's sidelines and bleachers Friday night at Ray Manus Stadium, but the Blue Devils were anything but cold during their Class AAAAAAA state tournament first round game with Roswell, winning 42-7.
The Devils will be back on the road next week, but not above Atlanta. East Coweta, a No. 3 seed, pulled an upset over No. 2 Marietta, 28-26, meaning Tift will play in Sharpsburg. Click for full article
